At Rockhampton Antenna & TV Services, we’re proud of the antenna and satellite equipment we supply and install. Our products and installation services bring high quality images to televisions throughout Australia.

Being a fully mobile service we have very low overheads and these savings are passed onto our customers. All of our installations and repairs are conducted at our customers premises which means there is no need for us to have expensive retail and office space.

Locally in Rockhampton & surrounding areas we are one of the only local installers of Christian Satellite TV as well as Satellite TV from Indian, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Philippines and many other countries.

Along with our TV antenna installation services we have a wide range of products to suit caravan travellers including our TravelSat portable satellite TV systems for VAST, Austar & Foxtel.

Rockhampton Antenna & TV Services was established in early 2015 and we are still proud to be servicing the Rockhampton region.

We have experienced technicians and can offer a wide variety of high quality services including:

Starlink installations, antenna and tv services, satellite service and installations, security cameras, smoke alarms and more.

We also operate TravelSat Australia, an online retailer of satellite TV equipment designed specifically for caravans & motorhomes.

With the ever increasing number of "Grey Nomads" on the road, caravan satellite TV has become a booming industry.

FAQ

Do I need a different digital antenna for High Definition Digital TV?
Not usually, all digital ready antennas are also suitable for High Definition.  However if your antenna system suffers from poor or low signal, you may find that high definition channels are the first to suffer problems.  This can occur if you a using a non digital ready TV antenna or if the cable used is not RG6 quad-shield cable.
Why does the picture occasionally freeze or pixelate (breaks up into little blocks)?

This can have a number of causes, but generally it is caused by low or poor quality signal.  Poor quality signal can occur if the antenna system is not digital ready.

Sometimes even with the best possible installation this can occur occasionally.  Digital reception is susceptible to electromagnetic interference which can be caused by power lines, air conditioners and faulty light transformers and dimmers just to mention a few.  This occurs mainly in older homes and is not a common issue.  Upgrading the cable to high quality RG6 quad-shield cable will generally improve the problem significantly if not eliminating it altogether.

Can an antenna be placed under a roof?
This is never recommended due to the quality of the signal being significantly reduced. Should a customer request that the antenna be placed under a tile roof, this can be achieved but the high quality image would not be guaranteed.
How many TV points can be taken from the antenna?
Each point whether in use or not reduces the signal by approximately 8%. Signal strength is required to be between 45 to 80dB (ideal is 65db at each outlet).  Thus if there are more than 4 points to the household the signal would likely reduce to less than the minimal signal and an amplifier would be needed to boost the signal.
What do we tune?
We tune televisions, PVRs, video recorders, digital boxes and set up DVDs.
Do you fix TV’s or other devices?
Sorry, we do not do any repairs of Televisions, VRC’s or other devices.  Of course if you have bought new equipment we are able to help you set it up correctly.
What if I can’t get digital reception in my area?
A digital satellite service named VAST (Viewer Access Satellite Television) is available for viewers in remote areas as well as metropolitan areas who are located in blackspots.

Basically if you are unable to receive Terrestrial signal (normal digital TV) you will qualify to receive VAST via satellite.  Our technicians are qualified to install satellite dishes as well and can assist you with this.

What is Freeview?
Freeview is a joint advertising campaign by Free-to-air broadcasters to promote Digital TV.  Basically it is a way of competing against pay TV for viewer share.

What areas do we service?
Our installation services are supplied to Rockhampton and all surrounding areas (including rural and coastal properties).  If your home is within 100kms of Rockhampton we can help you.
Can we assist the DIY customer?
We will at all times provide our personalised service to all customers. This includes sales of products, technical advice on antenna installations or service.
How are payments made?
On antenna installation payments are made to the technician on the completion of the service. We have fully mobile EFTPOS facilities available or alternatively cash or cheque payments can be made.  We also accept payment by direct deposit only the strict terms that it is a same day payment.

TravelSat Australia is a division of Toowoomba Antennas & TV Services. We have been selling caravan satellite TV equipment online and from our workshop in Toowoomba for over 5 years. Our initial goal was to help local caravan owners access antennas & satellite equipment from a local supplier. Over time we realised that there is a national market for our products, services & expertise.

The difference between us and most other online sellers is that when you call us you can speak directly to a technician who knows these products inside out.
